Kem Krest is a provider of comprehensive solutions for fulfillment, chemical packaging, supply chain management, e-commerce, and aftersales located in Elkhart, Indiana. Kem Krest was experiencing significant freight surcharges on their outbound shipments.

The leadership team suspected that a significant portion of surcharges was stemming from inaccurate part dimensions and weights across multiple ERP systems that Kem Krest had to manage. Industry Labs conducted an analysis of parts data and the current process at various facilities in order to develop a solution to mitigate surcharges. The team also helped institute the parts data verification process.

As a result of this project, approximately 300,000 pounds of annual freight surcharges will be avoided. The project also resulted in a standardization of parts documentation and sampling procedures, as well as improved accuracy in the ERP freight quoting logic.

This project was completed in collaboration with enFocus.
