ITAMCO is a manufacturer based in Argos, Indiana who provides open gearing and precision machining services to heavy-duty machine Industries

ITAMCO's procurement workload increased significantly following a steady growth in production volume over the last few years. The leadership team wanted to reduce the average time to complete a purchase order, especially as a new ERP system implementation was in the near future plans. Industry Labs assessed the current process and quantified opportunities for improvement. The team first developed a standardized internal purchase requisition form with automated analytics. Additionally, standard Procure to Pay process operating procedures were developed for the new ERP system to ensure smooth transition to it. Recommendations on additional compatible software and useful ERP features were proposed and documented for easier implementation.

As a result of this project, the purchase order cycle time sped up and saved an estimated 1500 man-hours annually. The project also resulted in the digitization of approximately 20,000 sheets of paper each year.
