Shaun Whitfield

AI Engineer, DAC DOME

Shaun Whitfield is an AI Engineer within DAC DOME (Data, AI, and Computing Initiative - Deployment, Operations, Modeling, and Engineering).

Shaun’s journey at Notre Dame began as an intern at the Center for Research Computing before he transitioned to a full-time developer, and he now focuses on designing and deploying machine learning models and artificial intelligence solutions to support advanced research. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Indiana University South Bend.

Prior to joining Notre Dame, Shaun worked in IT for the non-profit Church World Service and volunteered as an instructor for the South Bend Code School, teaching introductory web design to local youth. A lifelong resident of the area, Shaun lives in Mishawaka with his wife and two daughters.

In his spare time, he enjoys games of all kinds and spending time with his family.
